Valleyfair - Lukie's Birthday...

Lukie has had very few 'friend' birthday parties (August and early September are busy times for everyone and tough to plan) and he's been asking for one for awhile.  Earlier this summer he asked if he could take some guys to Valleyfair for his birthday and I promised we'd make it happen this year...

Today was the day that I took Lukie and three guys to Valleyfair (and Lex)...here's our crew...

Off they went towards the waterpark, they they rode the 'Wild Thing' first, while Lex and I got spots at the water park...

After several hours at the waterpark (no pictures, we were too busy), the boys wanted to ride 'Thunder Canyon' while they still had their swimsuits on...

After the ride, two of them were pretty wet, two were pretty dry...that would change...

Before lunch (and changing into dry clothes), they wanted to ride the 'Wave'...that's Lukie waving in the picture below...

The group is somewhere below that splash...

Of course, after the ride, they wanted to take the splash directly from the next boat...they are on that bridge somewhere...

After two times going on the ride, here's what they looked like...drenched and full of smiles...

Lukie wanted 'Lunchables Uploaded' for lunch, we brought them along and had to step outside of the park to eat them...I laughed when Lex and I were watching them eat.  Lukie has always been confident to step away from a group and do his own thing...lunch was no different...

After lunch (and a change of clothes), they were ready for some rides...

An hour and a half later, Lex and I met up with them for some french fries and cheese curds (Lex and I rode as many rides as we could)...we got three baskets and when I brought the baskets to the group one said 'we'll never eat all that.'  Yes we did and it was time to ride some rides again...

We were going to meet up in another 90 minutes, but after an hour, the boys showed up at a ride Lex was riding.  So we stayed together for the last thirty minutes...finishing off the day by riding the antique cars...

Before we left, I started the Jeep to get the air conditioning going and it was time for presents...is it odd to open presents in a parking lot...yes...and we all thought it was, but it worked and didn't matter...see Lex was there...

A good day...Lukie was happy...Lex liked them time alone with me...we were all exhausted...time for bed...
