Yesterday was the first round and the game took place at the Delano Municipal Park. Lukie kept bugging me with 'are you sure you know where it is?' Yeah, buddy...I know...
We were ready...dressed in orange...ready to cheer them on for the first pitch...
See that hat on Lukie's head, it was given to him yesterday...he (we) have gotten to know his favorite person in the world, a certain volleyball player up at St. Ben's and as part of that, we've gotten to know #0 behind him fairly well too (he's her longtime boyfriend). Lukie, Lex and I were eating lunch before the game and Lukie took off to say hello to Cam when he saw him...the two of the disappeared for a bit and Lukie came back with the hat!
He was completely stoked! Didn't take it off at all yesterday...is currently wearing it now. Cam wouldn't take any money for it, so I told him (and texted Mary) that they'll need to let me know when they're hanging together sometime and I'd order pizza for them (they've got to eat)...apparently the two of them concocted the plan sometime last week...
Anyway...the game turned out good for the Hollanders...a 5-2 win...
How do you celebrate a state tournament, opening round win? Blizzards all around...
Next game is next Saturday in Maple Lake...11:00 am...we'll see how far this season goes...
