We went to the zoo today for a while...it was hot (high dew points) for the first 3-4 hours until rain showers came and cooled tings down...that didn't stop us from spending most of the time outside...
I didn't take too many pictures, but here's some:
When we went a month or so ago, Lukie reminded me that Lex got to ride the camel last year (when he was busy at a friend's party) and he wanted a chance. He reminded me again today...he got his chance this time...
He thought it was only fair that he ride up front (because Lex already rode up front once) and thought it was completely unfair that she got to ride again...
I feel for this guy who walks the camel's around in circles for hours...
But he's good about bringing the camel for a picture opportunity at the end...
Going through Llama Trek, we found the llamas to be pretty calm and mostly sitting/standing in any amount of shade they could find...which made good pictures...
This one walked right up to the sign as we walked up...it's standing in a tiny bit of shade...
Which set up another picture...we couldn't go any closer or we would have gone over the 'do not cross' line. You can see one of the rocks we can't cross just to the left of Luke's right elbow...
This one is like 'fine, take a picture, but don't block my shade.'...
We loved seeing three Bacterian Camels in the pond. If an animal had a pond, they were in it today...camels, grizzly bears, moose, caribou, bison, etc...
Nice picture of a caribou strolling by Lukie and Lex...notice the caribou in the background, in the pond...
At one of the playgrounds, I turned around and Lex had climbed the mosquito...Lukie wasn't going to be outdone, so he climbed it too...
But then he realized mosquitos aren't good, so he gave it the thumbs down...
Like I said, not a lot of pictures, but there's some I liked...
