Duluth, MN....

We really got lucky with the weather while camping...yes, it was cool because of the persistent winds coming off the lake, but it rain at the perfect times.  Sunday morning it rained for about 10 minutes when we were hiking the Hiking Club trail, but we happened to be resting at trail shelter at the time so it didn't bother us...

Sunday afternoon was going to be different, knowing the radar, it looked like it was going to rain for 3-4 hours.  Luke wanted to go to the Maritime Museum in Canal Park...this was the perfect time to go...when it started raining, we left for Duluth...

We spent about an hour at the museum...we all like it, then we had dinner at Little Angie's Cantina and when we were done eating, the rain had stopped and a ship was coming in...

It was the 1,004 foot James R. Barker, coming into Duluth to load up on taconite pellets from the Iron Range...

It is always cool to see a ship coming into harbor, the bridge going up, etc...

Lex loves waving to the crew members...

These 1,000 foot ships start turning before they've even gotten completely under the bridge, it's cool to see...

Best part - by the time we got back to camp, it had stopped raining...it didn't start again until we were all in the tent sleeping.  In the morning, it stopped raining at 7:30 and started again about 9:00, but that is enough time pack up camp...a good trip.
