Sub-Section Playoff Basketball...

Last night was the Sub-Section 2AA North Championship game in Mankato and the Raider girls team was playing Glencoe-Silver Lake (just like they did last year)...and of course Lukie/Lex and I were there...

I say it often...take your kid(s) to a high school game, but the best part is when you continue to take them to high school games...let them follow a team...or a player.  It opens your eyes and is incredible to watch...over the last few years Lukie/Lex have followed multiple teams and players (including teams from other schools) and have had a blast...as a parent you have care less about your needs and more about the kids...and trust me, they love this.  Professional sports is one thing and I won't say it's not important, but kids love watching and rooting (and knowing or being known) by people they see regularly...I can't explain it, it's just awesome to watch...

***To bad K hasn't had the same opportunity this school year (I can list his favorite past Central teams, his favorite past players and the exact years they were playing.  This school year would have added to his list).

Lukie/Lex and I were living the dream when we heading to Mankato...

The game started great...out to a big lead...28-13 at halftime...

Too bad with the snow day most of the state had on Monday, Central's boys BB team had a section game reschedule for the same night (ironically, the team they were playing was also Glencoe)...meaning, the crowd was considerably smaller for both sides...

But in the end...we're awesome and Glencoe's not (yes, I remember, the Glencoe VB squad beating the #1 seeded Raider volleyball team on Halloween)...and the Raiders won 56-39...

Section Championship is this Friday...win and you go to state...

Of course Lukie and Lex needed to make up a card for their most favorite person in the world (and they did this on Monday, the snow day, before the game in Mankato)...trouble is, who would be the opponent on Friday?

Well...they made two.  One if St. Peter was the opponent and one for Blue Earth Area...

St. Peter beat Blue Earth Area, that card will be delivered in the morning and they are the only thing that stands in the way of the Raiders going to state.  St. Peter won a close game against the Raiders in December (we were there), but this is going to be different...

Lukie and Lex are excited...like they say 'take us to state'....
