Card's for Mary...

It should be pretty obvious that these kids have a favorite person in the world...it started last winter when Kieran was watching the basketball team play...he and Lex started making cards for their player and Luke would just sign his name to it...

It turns out that Lukie really got to know her last summer...he really got to respect her and as he said, consider her as a role model...she treats him as a person, not just a little person...she's a student aide in his classroom so they see each other often, yet he's said many times "I wish I didn't read as well, just so I could work with her."...

It's been extremely fun watching them interact throughout the summer, the volleyball games we had to go to because she played (and the future games we'll be at because she's playing at the College of St. Benedict's) and now the basketball games...now I love going to HS sports for myself,  but watching a kid enjoy it for his/her own reasons is awesome...they live and die through a team or a player (Kieran has certainly did in the past...not this year though), Lukie and Lex are now rooting for the one person they want to win it all (like they did last fall during volleyball season)...

Well...tonight they brought back the card making....

Sub-section playoff are Tuesday, which we'd all be stunned if they lost, but it means they apparently need a little 'extra' motivation...

They're already talking about making a card for the section championship game tomorrow night because they know they'll win Tuesday...
