Tackle Football

So Kieran is playing tackle football this fall for the first time.  It's Tuesday and Thursday nights, from 6:00 - 7:15.  It's mostly a skill development time at this age group, but there will be some tackling drills and I'm sure scrimmages.

I apologize if you've already seen these since I've posted the pictures on Facebook already, but this is essentially for those who are not on Facebook and this is new for them...

It's the first time that he'll wear pads, I never wore pads or played tackle football until I was in 7th grade.  He's not entirely sure about the helmet right now, trying to get it off over his ears is tough.

He had the choice between three different numbers - 10, 14, and 18.  I thought for sure he'd take 18 (Peyton Manning's number) or 14, but he took 10.  He likes the fact that it's still a quarterbacks number.  He wanted 12 (Tom Brady's number) but a buddy of his beat us to it....

Considering he can be a bit of a crier, we're interested to see how football goes this fall.  There will definitely be an update sometime in the next few weeks...

He's also signed up for Cross Country club on Wednesdays, we'll see which one he likes the best...
