We got Twins tickets for last nights game against the Detroit Tigers. First stop, before we even got into the stadium was a picture with the Kirby Puckett statue.
Now the boys don't no much, if anything about Kirby, but if you've forgotten about why that statue is there please spend about a minute watching: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dig7fkSg6EY
Better yet...watch it anyway...I can tell you where I was, who I was with and what we did when it happened....
Next stop --- the gold glove representing all the Twins who have won a Gold Glove.
And then the big ball...
And we hadn't even got in the stadium yet....
Finally, we found our seats...
It was Luke's first time in Target Field and he was having a hard time seeing past the people in front of him, so he wanted to explore...so we did. We spent about an inning looking at the stadium and people watching.
We saw the big apple...
And Mickey...
The game was rather boring...the Tigers had hit 3 homeruns and were winning 6-0 through 7 innings. Kieran was having a hard time watching the Twins lose, but he had to keep watching the train wreck. Luke grew tired of watching this (so did I) so he and I explored the upper deck.
The Twins finally scored their first run in the bottom of the eighth inning....they were still losing 6-1 going into the bottom of the ninth.
It didn't look good...but that's why they play the game...the Twins scored 7 runs in the ninth, the last three on a walk off homerun by Brian Dozier. Here he is rounding second base...
And coming home....the place went nuts...
Kieran was happy....
