Let's get these out of the way...after 26 of the suckiest miles possible...
At least it got finished....
Getting back to camp, and after the rain finally ended, we walked down to the falls. The area got over 1.5 inches of rain on Saturday alone, so the river really came up. As part of the workshop, we had stopped at Gooseberry on Thursday and the river was about half the size.
The sun came up on Sunday and the rain clouds were gone...great thing...we walked down to the picnic lava flow, lot's of fog was out on the lake...
Some of us walked faster than others...Lex really slows people down sometimes...they're all in the picture there...somewhere...
Of course the kids went looking for tadpoles --- shoes, socks, etc. got all wet --- I didn't even take a picture of them. Sarah sat on the rocks warming up. I spent my time looking for agates that hadn't been stained red yet or dislodged from their host rock.
Took a quick drive up to the overlook at Split Rock Lighthouse and of course took a picture...
Leaving the Duluth area, we stopped at the overlook above the St. Louis River estuary and Canal Park. I'm not sure if Kieran and Sarah were discussing glaciers, Glacial Lakes (Duluth and Houghton), uplift and drowned river valleys or football and Tom Brady. My guess....Tom Brady.
