Minnehaha Falls

Woke up this morning and asked Kieran what he wanted to do, he said "go see a waterfall", so we did.  Saturday's morning temperatures were in the 60s, much better than the recent trip to Minneopa when it was in the upper 30s.  Minnehaha is a big park, part of the Minneapolis Parks System, lots of things to do besides the waterfall.  I'm getting some heat for not having pictures of Lex on here, some should be coming Monday, when everyone is dressed in purple for 'Purple Monday'......Go Vikes!!
For those interested --- Minnehaha Falls is a 53 foot waterfall created when Glacial River Warren created a 'nick point' through the state (much like Minneopa).  The Plateville Limestone is the resistant layer at the top of the falls, but the waterfall is created when the creek erodes the much softer St. Peter Sandstone found underneath the limestone.  Between the sandstone and the limestone is also a layer of shale.
