Lukie's Basketball 2019-2020 Season...

Well the season started today with a tournament in Howard Lake...three games in a little more than six hours...longtime in the gym, but it was fun...

He's number 33 for the year...

The first game was fun, sort of a back and forth game.  Lukie scored a basket late in the second half, but they ultimately lost 21-18...

They won the second game though, so things we're looking up...

An action shot of him racing down court after throwing the ball into play...

The last game wasn't close at all though...Lukie's team mostly kept their heads up though and Lukie had fun...

Basically every Saturday between now and the end of February is going to have two basketball games to attend...bet I don't miss many...

Delano Girls Hockey...

We went to another game this evening, Lukie and Lex spent the first couple of periods sitting down on the glass...

Eventually, Lukie and Lex had to separate for a bit and Lukie came up to watch with me...it was a good game, but 2-1 Delano lost...

The team was collecting new mittens, hats, blankets, etc. to be donated.  For every donation, you would be entered into a raffle and Lukie/Lex both donated gloves...turns out we won with both of our donations...$50 and a large pizza at Unhinged...

Like I said...it was a good game...

Bentleyville 2019...

At the end of a weekend spent up north, we visited Bentleyville in Duluth again...we went on a Sunday night, which had low attendance (good for us).  Apparently, there were a couple of thousand of people waiting for the gates to open the night before.  The night we visited, there was about a dozen people waiting.  Also, considering it was about 40 degrees, it was a great night...

Up first was a visit with Santa...Lex is a true believer...Lukie, I'm not quite sure.  I'd guess he's a skeptic, but he wouldn't risk telling me...

There are lights and lights and lights at Bentleyville...

Mrs. Claus is at a different location than Santa...plus her line goes extremely slow (she talks to much to the kids)...but Lex wanted to visit her...

Like I said, it was pretty low key...we've been there before when it was packed with people...

We liked this poster...'Fun Facts You Didn't Need To Know' about Bentleyville...

And we got lucky, there was a ship leaving the harbor when we were there...

Lukie likes his dinosaurs...

And then it was time to leave...

But not before Lex wanted a few more pictures (that Lukie tolerates mostly)...

They were asleep before we got to the top of Thomson Hill...I had a quiet drive back...we'll be back next year!

High School Sports...

We attend a lot of sporting events for two different high schools...Central football and volleyball have been done for a few weeks, but Delano football made it to state so we were off for St. Cloud to watch the quarterfinal game...

Yeah, a 7:00 pm start time means it was going to be cold...the game started with a touchdown drive by the Tigers...

Husky Stadium is a nice place to watch a game...no need to comment further on the game...the Tigers only scored on the first drive...

With the fall season over, it was convenient that the winter sports season started today.  We were off to the first game for the Delano Tiger girls hockey team...

They make great pretzels (with cheese) there...we each had one...

They do a good job watching the game, but in the picture above, there was some sort of a contest going on...

Bring on the winter sports...

Halloween...

We decided to go with an Avengers theme for 2019...after all, Avengers:Endgame (which we've probably seen too much) came out last spring...

Lex went with her favorite Avenger...Captain Marvel...

Lukie went with Ronin (whose actually Clint...aka, Hawkeye, but is angry with the world at the moment) because he liked the ninja look...

I went with Thor, but not the early film style of Thor...mine was Fat Thor of Endgame...in that movie, Thor is deeply depressed because of earlier events and lets a few pounds add onto his frame...

Yep...I think we won Halloween...

Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular at the MN Zoo...

Yesterday, we went to the MN Zoo for the Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular...5,000 pumpkins carved, it's amazing...we visited last year and had to go back...

These pumpkins 'only' have the sponsors of the event...

The theme this year was 'Around the World,' so there were pumpkins carved representing images from certain regions (only some are on this post)...like Africa...

The monarchs go somewhere...

A Mayan temple in front of a Mayan temple...

The Galapagos...

Most think Darwin...

Or iguanas...

There is an amazing number of jack-o-lanterns carved...

We love it...

England...

Robin Hood and castles...

Of course there's Harry Potter...

Greece...

The Spartans...

Then they have some massive pumpkins to hug...

Lukie liked the pumpkin with Bo Peep (from Toy Story 4)...and we're currently watching Toy Story 4...

If you look at the minion pumpkin long enough, you'll see some other characters...

Before we left...we had a few races through the maze...you couldn't get lost...

It was a great evening...we'll be back next year if the have it...
