Lukie's First Five-on-Five Basketball Game

Luke's been having practices every Tuesday night since late November and has been having a blast.  He's got a jersey (#4), shoes, kneepads and just loves going to practice.  The area was having trouble scheduling games for 3rd graders though, but finally a schedule came together and tonight was his first every true basketball game (remember that he played in a 3 on 3 league last summer)...

I didn't take a lot of pictures (I was talking some with the 3rd grade teachers...all of whom came to the game...good for them, the boys love it.  Same reason I go to a lot of Delano sporting events)...

I had a nice picture ready when Lukie was taking a shot, but the coach/ref got in the way as I went to snap it...

They were playing the Waconia Purple team, but in reality, it was the first practice game for all.  Every possession, there was a lot of traveling, double dribble, carrying, etc., that will improve as they go on...

This weekend should be fun.  Lukie has two basketball games Saturday afternoon (Kieran has two in the morning) and then has a tournament on Sunday in Belle Plaine.  That should be fun...the moment you have kids, you realize that life is not about you, it's about them...and being there for them and watching them is pretty damn cool...
