Chula Vista - Wisconsin Dells

A few weekends back, while Sarah and Maddy went to Tempe for Ironman Arizona, the kids and I went to the Chula Vista Resort in Wisconsin Dells.  I had put in the paperwork for time off last year in anticipation for traveling to Arizona, so I had the time off.  I had also put away money for plane tickets, but when it became clear that I wasn't going to go to Arizona, I decided to use the money to take the kids somewhere...I looked at Edgewater in Duluth, Three Bears in Baxter and the Waterpark of America in Bloomington.  On a whim, I took a look at Chula Vista, which we visited back in 2012 (revisit that post here)...turns out they were running a Pre-Thanksgiving deal, trying to fill rooms and it was cheaper than all the others for two nights...

I picked up the kids from school, just before they were being released for a snow day and we headed east...away from the snow...

We spent two nights and three days playing in the water...I was always tired, but the kids were never tired...

It was so much more fun this time considering they all could do most of the slides (and no one was sick this time)...

Here's Luke coming down a slide that Kieran said (at age 6) "it was too fast, too crazy..."

That was not an issue with Luke...

Or even Kieran this time around...here he is coming down the same slide...

He also had fun this time around...

The boys were also tall enough to go down the tube slides too (Lex was too, but considering she can't swim well or at all, I wouldn't let her)...

They did this a lot, sometimes as a pair, sometimes as a single...

It's not that there wasn't enough for Lex to do either...she had lots of slides to go down, the lazy river or just some water guns...

My favorite picture from the weekend was at the Zoltar machine...yeah...the one from Big!  Thankfully, no one woke up twenty years older the next morning...

Sleeping arrangements were chosen by Kieran, he figured that Lex would kick him less than Luke...judging by the picture, the problem is Kieran...not Luke..

We had a great time...and we'll be back in the summertime to enjoy the outdoor waterpark...
